INTRODUCTION

Menthol is a white crystal extracted from the leaf and stem of peppermint. It is the main ingredient in peppermint and peppermint essential oils.

 

Menthol is used as an odorant in toothpaste, perfume, drinks and confectionery. Cooling antipruritic effect. For headache and nose, pharynx, laryngitis, etc. Its esters are also used in spices.
